Daniel Green Slippers - Women's For the House
Daniel Green slippers were fashioned after a pair of felt shoes made from unused pieces of piano felt. These shoes were worn by factory workers of the Dolgeville Felt Mill in the late 1800s. The slippers were designed to keep the workers feet warm while working on the cold floors of the factory.
Daniel Green visited the factory and was very impressed with these shoes. He decided to start designing and making more based on these factory slippers. He shared the idea with a business partner and so the story goes.
After originally selling 600 pair in 1882, Daniel Green designed slippers that could be worn in the bedroom or out on the town, by adding felt heels. This increased his sales in 1885 to 75,000 pair. Now the slippers were more versatile than just being worn in the bedroom and around the house making them more appealing to more women.
The majority of Daniel Green's slippers are made with Memory Foam insoles. This insole was initially made for astronauts to wear during take-off because it relieved the force on their bodies. Now it is placed in almost every pair to give the wearer extra support and needed comfort. Never a hurting toe or foot will be found if wearing a pair of his slippers.
Daniel Green manufactures the most luxurious and uniquely beautiful women's slippers on the market today. Some of his styles include the Perennial Classics line, a line of machine washable, and even seasonal pairs.
The Travel line consists of the Opal, the Farrah, the Blossom, and the Jade. Some of these slippers even come with a travel bag for all your cosmetic needs.
