Addiction Hypnosis - Hypnotherapy for Addiction

Hypnotherapy is being used in many areas of people lives nowadays. Uses range from handling pain to childbirth to addictions. Addiction hypnosis is an incredible resource for you to be able to tap into a new style of thinking. After all, in theory, it is your subconscious that is more troublesome than your conscious mind.

How It Works

Addiction is like all other bothersome afflictions, but it ranks among the highest for our nation. Addictions range from drugs, to alcohol, to food, to gambling and even sex. Hypnotherapy can help you change your addictive tendencies, and help to open a new state of mind.

The way that addiction hypnotherapy works, is by allowing your brain to drop into a trace-like state. In this state, you are more easily receptive to ideas and suggestions that mirror the path of your goals. A hypnotherapist then uses simple suggestions while you are in this state of concentration and focused attention to achieve your goal. These suggestions help you change how you deal with your addiction and the mental state that accompanies it.

Does It Work With Other Programs?

Some addiction hypnotherapists will say that by doing 12 Step programs, you are buying into the idea that you were “destined” to be an addict. Many people in this field believe that it is actually possible to change one’s thought processes. It is proven that we can be taught new ways of thinking and that you don’t necessarily have to attend AA or NA meetings the rest of your life.

Addiction doesn’t have to always be a weight that is forever carried behind you. With addiction hypnosis, you will learn how to be satisfied with yourself.  With simple steps, your self-esteem will improve dramatically, along with the rest of your life. You will finally be able to move forward into a more positive outlook on life.

How Long Is It For?

Usually, addiction hypnotherapy sessions are set for the individual’s needs. Most professionals will book new patients for roughly twelve sessions. If more are needed, this can easily be altered for that individual client.

Once your designated sessions are completed, there should be no need for aftercare, or support groups. If needed, more sessions can be used. There are also hypnotic reinforcement CD’s that can be made readily available by your hypnotherapist or by personal purchase.
