Stop Smoking Hypnosis - Stop Smoking Hypnotist

To really achieve the full benefit of hypnosis to quit smoking, you must first truly have the desire to stop. Many have found that it is easier mentally to look at quitting smoking as "allowing yourself to be smoke-free". For some, the thought of just "quitting" is too much. To "quit", means that you are giving up something that you really enjoy.

Steps to Prepare for Smoking Hypnosis

Timing, motivation, and support are everything. Make sure that before you go in for smoking hypnosis, you are at a stress-free point in your life (i.e. no stress from work, and also no major events as in weddings, celebrations of any kind, or holidays). All smoking paraphernalia should be removed from your home, car or work. Temptation will be your downfall. Mark the date, and keep to it so you can report back to your hypnotherapist.

Make sure to stay away from people that would secretly delight in your failure to quit. Surround yourself with people willing to give you an encouraging word when you need it most. A technique that some people use that also helps with motivation, is the "jam jar" technique. The jam jar technique consists of an empty jam jar, half filled with water. Sitting in the water are your smoked cigarette butts. Should the urge ever cross your mind to smoke a cigarette, all that needs to be done is a quick shake of the jar and a sniff. The smell alone should repel you from smoking a fresh cigarette.

Once You've Had the Hypnosis

After finding out about the "power of suggestion" first hand, you must also take precautionary steps to complete the process. Keeping a log book works for a great amount of people. Remember, after one bout of hypnosis you may still not be fully "fixed". A lot that depends on you getting better also has to do with your own will power.

To allow the first bit of hypnosis administered to your subconscious to help, keep a log book. Ask your yourself these questions and record the answers:

  • How many times did you have the urge to smoke?
  • Why did you feel you wanted it? Addiction or habit?
  • Did you have an urge while alone, or in a social setting?
