Weight Loss Through Hypnosis - Lose Weight with Hypnotheraphy

There are two ways to utilize hypnosis to help you with weight loss - hypnotherapy through a trained, licensed hypnotherapist and self-hypnosis

Using a Hypnotherapist

People who over eat, or who are generally more prone to gain weight, should consider hypnotherapy. It is not dangerous, and in reality at many points in a single day, many of us drop unconsciously into a trance like state. Hypnotherapy is nothing like stage hypnosis, and can be very beneficial if used correctly. Your conscious mind will always protect you, even while in the trance-like state. Never will you be able to accept any suggestions that go against the fundamental basics of your morals and ethics.

Along with the "power of suggestion" through hypnosis, one must also remember that even though hypnosis works wonders, there are other important pieces that accompany weight loss. Such accomplices to weight loss include:

  • Healthier eating choices
  • Daily exercise
  • The amount that you choose to eat (i.e. healthy portions)
  • Eating only when hungry (i.e. meal times, and if necessary snacks of vegetables between meals)

Using Self-Hypnosis

As helpful as using a hypnotherapist can be, it is not for everyone. By utilizing the "power of suggestion" you can help yourself to change patterns and tendencies. As with using a hypnotherapist, you must also change your lifestyle (i.e. eating, exercise, etc.)

Many people rely on self-help books for hypnosis. These are very beneficial if you already possess the desire to loose weight. These books explain to the reader how to follow through with self-hypnosis, while encouraging positive mental and physical change. Many of these self-help books encourage the reader to first create a list of positive and negative consequences before starting. This helps with the motivation factor.

The most important thing to remember about hypnosis for weight loss, is that you will not go in for hypnotherapy then come out twenty pounds lighter. How hypnotherapy will help you with your weight loss, is that it will give you that little boost to move towards healthier eating and exercising, all the while allowing you to actually enjoy the whole process of weight loss.
