Bodybuilding nutrition is an important part of bodybuilding. Strength training (body building) takes a lot of nutrients out of the body, and these need to be replenished quickly - with nutrition and sport supplements and well planned diet plans.

Another excellent source of protein and amino acids is spirulina. Spirulina contains several complete proteins and amino acids, as well as a good dose of antioxidants that prevent free radical damage, which could promote muscle deterioration, and vitamin B 12 and iron. It has more absorbable protein per gram than beef or soy, making it a great sport supplement.

Flax seed contains both proteins and amino acids needed to complete proteins. It also has alpha linolenic acid, an essential omega 3 fatty acid that can help reduce the risk of injuries and can help speed recovery time.

Also, the digestive tract is important for processing the proteins and vitamins. A supplement of acidophilus can help break down and digest proteins so they are used in the system. Acidophilus is a probiotic bacteria found in things like milk and yogurt and can be bought as a supplement.

  • Calcium carbonate or calcium magnesium. Calcium is good for keeping the teeth and bones strong.

  • Carnitine. Carnitine helps turn fats into energy, which improves the metabolism.

  • Alpha lipoic acid. It's a universal antioxidant, which means it can penetrate both the water and fat cells in the body. It also extends the life of other antioxidants like Vitamin E, Vitamin C, and glutathione. Body builders and other athletes burn through antioxidants, which weakens the immune system, making them susceptible to illness.

  • Ginkgo. Ginkgo contains many vital antioxidants. It also allows more oxygen to flow to the brain, increase circulation, and improves memory.
