Stihl hedge trimmers give you plenty of options. Go with a gas powered hedge trimmer or avoid the fumes and look at electric hedge cutters. If you have tall hedges, the extended hedge trimmers will suit your needs. Stihl also has pole pruners for the super tall shrubs, hedges and trees.

The HS45 gives you the choice of blade length, either 45 or 60 centimeters. With the HS81, you choose between a 50, 60 or 75 centimeter blade. The HS81 allows you to decide between the 50 or 60 centimeter blade. Finally, the HS86 comes with a 75 centimeter blade. All models offer anti-vibration technology.

The electric Stihl hedge trimmers all come with cable strain relief. Every model except the HSE41 and HSE51 offer rotating handles for superior comfort. The HSE41 and 51 models tend to be best used on small hedges and shrubs.

When Height Matters

Stihl hedge trimmer with extended reach come with a total length of 5.4 to 8.13 feet. Model HL90K is the smallest of the extended reach hedge cutters. It's pretty powerful and packs the hedgetrimmer unit with features like anti-vibration. The larger HL95 and HL100 offer the 8-foot reach and add features like loop handles and shoulder straps.

All extended reach garden hedge trimmers have a manual primer pump and 4-MIX engine. Engine power on the HL90K, HL95 and HL95K is 28.4ccs. The HL100 and HL100K is more powerful with a 31.5cc engine.

If you prefer an electrical hedge cutter, try the HLE71 or HLE71K. The 600 watt machines all come with loop handles and shoulder straps.

If your hedges consist of unruly shrubs that tower over you, consider the gas or electric pruners. With a reach of more than 12 feet, tall hedges are no problem.
