Radio Fencing for Invisible Pet Containment
Radio fence is synonymous with invisible fence or instant fence, systems consisting of a radio signal generator and a specially designed collar that keeps the pet in or out of a designated area.
The term radio fence is derived from the fact that the special collar that is worn by the pet reacts to a weak radio signal. The radio signal in invisible fence systems is generated along a wire laid along the perimeter of the containment area.
As the animal approaches the perimeter wire, the collar senses the radio fence signal, emits an audible beep and then generates a harmless static shock that deters the pet from crossing the perimeter. In the case of instant fence systems, the radio signal is generated from a special unit placed in a central location, and the collar reacts to the loss of the radio signal as the pet moves away from the signal generator.
