Swim Spa - Discover the pool and exercise machine with a home swim spa

Swim spas offer much more than a traditional pool. It is a counter-current swimming and water exercise machine that is small enough to fit inside a home or business.

The swim spa's unique current speed is completely adjustable from zero to a racer's pace. This adjustable current allows you to swim or exercise in place.

The current is broad and deep, and is suitable to every swimming ability and fitness need. No ordinary pool offers you this. The swim spa's temperature is also adjustable. Warmer temperatures are ideal for a relaxing soak, while cooler temperatures lend themselves to vigorous exercise. With a swim spa, you can swim or exercise at your own speed and at your desired temperature.

Spa for Homes

Ideal for swimming, water aerobics, rehabilitation, relaxing and just plain fun, swim spas have become quite popular. Adding to their popularity is the fact that they can fit easily into even the smallest back yard, office, garage, basement or sunroom. And they look good too! Swim spas can be customized from functional to fabulous.

Swim spas are available in above ground, partially above ground or completely in ground models. Typical requirements are a solid, level ground, capable of supporting 200 lbs. per sq. ft. Many homeowners actually install their own pools. Some manufacturers offer kits for bolt-together assembly, on-site, by two reasonably handy persons. One benefit of a free standing model, is that it is easily transportable and can be relocated.

Although sizes vary, and customization is popular, the average swim spa fits into an 8'x15' area. The standard water depth, which is also the depth of a lap pool, is 39 inches or 1 meter. This is perfect for swimmers. If you prefer vertically-oriented, non-swimming activities, such as aqua aerobics, water walking/running or wet-vest running, you may want to customize your swim spa to a depth of 78 inches or 2 meters.

You may be surprised to know that most swim spas cost about the same to operate as a traditional home spa. The minimum power requirements for a swim spa are typically 220v, 30 amps (CFCI) (assumes gas heater), 110 volts, 20 amps (GFCI).

If you are serious about your health and fitness, a swim spa may be just what you are looking for.
