Wall Pot Rack - Wall Mounted Pot Racks
Wall pot racks double up your storage space. Not only do you get spacious pot rack hanging grids for your pots and pans, but you gain shelf space for items like cookbooks, canned goods and glasses.
You'll find a huge variety of wall mounted pot racks. They're most common in rectangular shapes, but you'll also find squares and half-circles. You'll have options for dozens of finishes from copper to stainless steel or wrought iron to wood.
Choosing the Best Wall Mounted Pot Rack
When deciding on the best wall pot rack for your kitchen, consider your space. If you have a long, empty wall, the larger pot racks are great for storing everything from pot racks to kitchen utensils. You can use the shelf for cookbooks or even small appliances.
Some kitchen pot racks offer double shelves. These units are perfect for smaller kitchens were you lack counter space and have lots of cookbooks you want to keep within reach.
Brands like Cuisinart offer three-year warranties on their pot racks. However, if the pot rack is built well, it's unlikely you'll ever need that coverage. Read reviews from other pot rack owners and see what they say about durability.
Tips for Hanging a Wall Mounted Pot Rack
When hanging a wall mounted pot rack, it's important that all brackets are attached to the wall studs. The kitchen pot rack will rip from your wall if you miss the studs and secure it only to sheetrock. Wall anchors are unlikely to be strong enough to hold the weight of your pots and pans.
Use a stud finder to accurately pinpoint where the studs are located. Once you have marked them, make sure you'll be able to secure each mounting bracket to a stud. If the studs are too wide apart, you're going to have to come up with an alternative.
Purchase two pieces of wood trim, look for 1 by 3 pieces of scrap wood at your local lumber supplier. Paint these boards to match your kitchen wall color and then attach them to the studs in your wall making sure you've spaced them to match the distance where you secure the pots and pans rack following manufacturer directions. You can then securely hang the wall pot rack on these boards.
Most wall pot racks screw to the wall at the back of the pot rack framing and again at the top of the bracket arm. Make sure the screws are long enough to go through the sheetrock and into the stud. If not, you should go to the local hardware store and purchase longer screws.
