Council on International Educational Exchange Gap Year Abroad

CIEE offers gap year trips to Chile, China, Dominican Republic, France, Japan and Spain. These gap year programs start at $11,000 and last a full semester. You live with a family in that country and learn their culture and language.

LeapNow.org LeapYear Gap Year Programs

LeapNow offers group or individual gap years ranging from a few months to a full year. Participants in LeapNow's LeapYear programs must be a minimum 17 years of age. Trips go to areas in Asia and Latin America. Spend time in India learning the different religions—Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam or Sikhism. Live and work in South America where you can master the Spanish language and immerse yourself in their culture.

LeapYear programs count as a full-time college and you receive college credits upon completion. Year-long programs combining Indian and South American travels start at $30,000.
