What Embrace Pet Insurance Does Not Cover
If you breed animals in your home, be aware that Embrace pet insurance will not cover any expenses related to pregnancy, birth or fertility. They also do not provide coverage for genetic testing.
Prescription foods and nutritional supplements are not covered by this pet insurance. Any treatments in regards to behavioral issues are not covered.
Prescription medications that you must give to your pet are only covered if you purchase Complete coverage.
Embrace Medical Pet Insurance Plans
Embrace pet insurance is available in multiple levels. Choose from:
- Budget
- Everyday
- Complete
- Design Your Own
A budget policy covers accidents and unexpected illnesses only. There is an annual deductible of $500 and a yearly maximum limit of $5,000. Everyday coverage also includes coverage for accidents and illnesses, but increases the yearly limit to $10,000 and includes a $200 yearly deductible.
The best coverage adds yearly check-ups, vaccinations and dental care to the policy. The $200 deductible remains the same, but yearly limits increase to $15,000.
Coverage for Pre-existing Health Conditions
Unlike many medical pet insurance plans, Embrace realizes there are two levels of pre-existing conditions. Some are treatable and others are not. If your cat or dog has a pre-existing condition that is treatable, Embrace pet insurance will cover it. This includes:
- Bladder infections
- Diarrhea
- Nausea and vomiting
- Respiratory infections
- UTIs
Embrace does limit treatment to once per year, so if the condition occurs repeatedly, you will have to pay for the additional treatments.
Pre-existing conditions that Embrace pet insurance considers impossible to cure include:
- Allergies
- Cancer
- Crystals blocking the bladder or urinary tract
- Diabetes
- Orthopedic ailments
- Thyroid issues
Take Advantage of Discounts
Pet owners who enroll with Embrace pet insurance policies can receive discounts. A five percent discount is given to all pets that have been microchipped. You'll also receive a discount if your pet has already been spayed or neutered.
