Hartville Pet Health Insurance - Vet Insurance for Pets

Hartville pet plans provide coverage for dogs and cats. Choose between four levels of pet insurance coverage to customize a plan that suits your pet's age and needs. All plans provide you with a thirty-day money back guarantee after enrollment.

Hartville partners with the ASPCA. Pet owners can turn to Hartville for up-to-date information on pet trends, new treatments and other informative articles that come from trusted ASPCA veterinarians.

How Hartville Pet Plans Work

You go to your veterinarian. After the vet sees or treats your cat or dog, you'll receive a bill for the services and pay them right then. After you get home, complete a claim form, you can print them out online.

Mail or fax that claim form with a copy of the veterinary invoice. Hartville pet plan processors will go through the invoice and determine which treatments, tests or lab work are covered under the terms of your policy. They subtract your deductible and your portion of the bill and cut you a check for the remainder.

Hartville pet plans pay for 80 percent of covered veterinary services. If your bill is for $300 and everything is covered by the plan you choose, they'd deduct your $100 deductible bringing the total to $200. You'd be responsible for 20 percent, or $40, and they'd send you a check for the remaining $160.

If your veterinary office allows you to pay a portion and have the balance sent directly to them, Hartville pet plans will happily send the payment directly to your veterinarian's office reducing the amount you must pay upfront.

Four Levels of Hartville Pet Plan Coverage

Hartville pet plans come in four levels:

  • Level 1 – covers accidents only
  • Level 2 – covers accidents and illnesses
  • Level 3 – covers accidents, illnesses and basic check-ups
  • Level 4 – covers accidents, illnesses and all wellness care

All pet health insurance policies set yearly benefit limits that range from $8,000 to $13,000. They also set maximum incident benefit limits ranging from $1,500 to $5,000.

Pre-existing conditions and genetic conditions are not covered by Hartville medical pet insurance. Certain conditions are only covered once your pet has been enrolled for a full year. Make sure you receive a full list of non-covered tests and procedures when you enroll.
