PurinaCare pet insurance provides coverage for any cat or dog. Because you pay your veterinary office at the time of the visit, you avoid having to choose from a list of eligible veterinarians. You go to the same veterinarian your pet currently sees, pay the bill and then submit a claim form to PurinaCare for reimbursement.

Covering 80 percent of eligible veterinary fees, PurinaCare pet insurance offers two benefit levels. One offers preventative care and the other covers accidents and hereditary conditions.

PurinaCare Pet Insurance Basic Level

The base level of PurinaCare pet insurance provides treatments and tests following an accident or illness. This includes x-rays and prescription medications.

Unlike most pet insurance plans, PurinaCare medical pet insurance provides coverage for hereditary conditions like dysplasia and stomach bloat. You have the joy of knowing if the worst possible situation occurs, your pet's veterinary treatments are covered.

PurinaCare Pet Insurance with Preventative Care

PurinaCare pet insurance with the preventative coverage adds yearly health exams, lab tests, dentistry, spay/neuter surgeries, flea and heartworm prevention. Don't worry about the cost of vaccinations any more, they're covered.

Every year, you can have your pet's teeth scaled and polished and know that the preventative dentistry is covered by your pet insurance policy. Genetic conditions are covered, as are prescription flea and heartworm medications.

Be Aware of Benefit Limits

PurinaCare pet insurance keeps costs low by limiting the amount they will pay for certain veterinary procedures. Limits include:

$100 limit for a cat spay

$100 limit for a dog neuter

$100 maximum for microchipping

$150 limit for a dog spay

$200 limit for dental cleanings

$250 limit for puppy or kitten vaccinations

$40 maximum for fecal tests

$40 maximum for heartworm tests

$75 limit for a cat neuter

Underwritten by Central States Indemnity Company, the Insurance Company of the State of Pennsylvania or New Hampshire Insurance Company, PurinaCare pet insurance is available in most of the United States. Alaska, Florida and Washington State are the only areas where coverage is not provided.
