Directions to Birmingham International Airport

Driving to Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport is easy. The airport is less than five miles from downtown Birmingham. Reach the airport from two adjacent interstates, the I-20 and I-59. The physical address is 5900 Messer Airport Highway.

If you're traveling on the I-59/I-20 take Exit 129 and follow signs to Messer Airport Highway. Those coming from the I-65 will take the I-20/I-59 Exit first and then Exit 129 and follow airport signs.

Onsite Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport Parking Lots

If you're simply picking someone up, head to the free Cell Phone Lot on Airline Drive. The Cell Phone Lot holds up to 40 vehicles. There is no time limit, but you must remain in or near your vehicle or it will be towed. Once your passenger retrieves luggage, you'll get a cell phone call and then drive up to the terminal for pick up.

Hourly parking is located on the third level of the parking deck. This lot is intended for stays of less than four hours. Rates range from $1 to $24.

Daily parking is on levels 2, 4, 5, 6 and 7. These parking areas are geared for stays of 5 hours or more. Rates range from $1 to $12.

For the least expensive parking, head to the BHM Airport Remote Parking Lot on Airline Drive. Rates here range from $1 to $10. Airport shuttle takes you to and from the airport.

Oversized vehicles should head to the Oversized Handicap Garage Zone F. The spaces in this zone are geared towards taller and wider vehicles. There is a separate entrance for Zone F right after the Exit Plaza.

Offsite Birmingham Airport Parking Options

Do you need to stay at a hotel before or after your flight? Birmingham Airport area hotels often provide Park, Sleep and Fly rates. You get a comfortable hotel room and parking for while you're away. The rates are less than airport parking and you can rest up before or after your flight.

BHM Park and Fly lots provide parking for as little as $9 a day. These lots are off-site and provide free shuttles to and from the airport.
