Driving to San Diego International Airport

Parking at San Diego International Airport is easy. Enter the airport's address (3225 North Harbor Drive) into your GPS or mapping system. This will bring you directly to the airport and you can follow signs to find the best San Diego Airport parking area for your specific needs.

San Diego Airport is a short hop from the I-5, I-8, I-15 and Route 163. If you're traveling on the I-5 North, take the San Diego Airport/Hawthorn Street Exit. From the I-5 South, you'll want the San Diego Airport/Sassafras Street Exit. Follow signs to the terminals.

If you're taking the other main routes, get off on the I-5 and then follow the above directions.

Parking at San Diego Airport

It's important to note that airport renovations mean some parking areas are closed from time to time, especially those near Terminal 2. You can call ahead to find out the best place to park at San Diego International Airport if you're in a hurry.

Rate vary greatly from $2 to $30. SAN valet parking is most expensive but also most convenient. Short-term parking is found in front of each terminal. There more than 4,000 long-term parking spaces are farther away and uses free shuttle service to bring passengers to and from their terminal.

If you're simply picking up a passenger, head to the Cell Phone Lot. There are 50 spaces available where you wait for your passenger to call for pick-up. You can wait for up to an hour in this lot and vending machines are available. The San Diego Airport Cell Phone lot is near the Coast Guard Station.

All parking areas at San Diego International Airport offer handicapped spaces. Handicapped parking spaces are closest to the skybridge elevator and terminal entrances. Red shuttles are equipped with wheelchair lifts.

Cash and credit cards are the only forms of payment accepted by the parking lot attendants.

Alternative Choices for San Diego International Airport Parking

Park for as little as $7 a day in San Diego Airport Park and Fly lots. These off-site parking areas provide you with free shuttle service to the airport, but you'll save a bundle avoiding crowded airport parking garages.

Stay at a San Diego Airport hotel before or after your flight and take advantage of Park, Sleep and Fly rates. You pay for your hotel room and the hotel allows you to leave your car on hotel grounds while you're away. Hotel shuttle brings you to and from the airport.
