Driving to San Fran Airport
If you're using an online map service or GPS unit to reach San Francisco Airport parking, enter the address Highway 101, San Francisco, or the airports IATA code SFO.
San Francisco International Airport parking and terminals are less than 15 miles from San Francisco. The airport nestles between Highway 101 and Highway 380. If you're taking Highway 280, take the 380 East Exit heading towards San Jose. Then take the 101 South Exit and follow signs to the airport.
Those heading from San Francisco should take the 101 South and follow signs for the airport. If your coming from San Jose, take the 101 North and follow airport signs.
Parking Options at San Francisco International Airport
Enjoy a handful of options for parking at SFO airport. Short-term parking is found in the Domestic Parking Garage. The five-floor guitar is central to all terminals. You should park in the correct color-coded area that matches your airline. The Domestic Parking Garage is not available to any vehicle higher than 6.5 feet. Expect to pay $2 to $33 in this garage.
Two International Parking garages provide daily and hourly parking for $2 to $20. AirTrains bring passengers to the domestic terminals. Those heading to the international terminal use pedestrian walkways. These garages have a height restriction of 8' 2”.
Long-term parking is indoor and nearest the corner of San Bruno Avenue and South Airport Boulevard. Expect to pay under $15 a day in this garage. Free shuttle brings passengers to the international terminal near AirTrain service. Take note that the long-term parking garage has a height restriction of 9 feet on the first floor and 7 feet on the remaining floors.
If you don't mind spending a little more money, use the ParkValet service. Head to the Domestic Departures area and leave your car with the valet. They'll park it for you and retrieve it when you return. This service costs $38 to $45 a day and you get a free newspaper for your flight.
Electric vehicles can park in all parking garages. In the Domestic Garage, you'll find 12 spots on Level 1. The International Garage A has two areas on Level 2 and Garage G has two spaces on Level 3. The Long-term garage has four spaces on Level 2. These spaces offer a 110V outlet, but you must bring your own charging cable. Look for the Green Vehicle parking signs. Use of the outlet is free.
Bicycles can park in bike racks found in the Domestic Garage, International Garages, Westfield Garage and SFO Rental Car Center. Parking is free, but you have a limit of 14 days. If you are planning to park your bike for more than 24 hours, you must register the bike with an airport parking authority. If you fail to register your bike, it will be removed.
All parking garages and long-term lots offer handicapped parking spaces. Spaces are closest to the elevator lobbies or shuttle van pick-up areas. All shuttles from the long-term lot are equipped with wheelchair lifts. If your handicapped van is higher than 9 feet, head to the over-height parking lot to the side of the long-term garage.
If you are picking up passengers at SFO airport, avoid costly parking and use the Cell Phone Lot that's down the road adjacent to long-term parking. You can park here for up to an hour. There are vending machines available and a flight information kiosk. Once your passenger arrives and has been through baggage claim, simply drive to the terminal to get them.

Park off-site and save a bundle of cash. SFO Park and Fly lots are within a few minutes of the airport and rates start at $5 per day. You receive shuttle service to and from your terminal.
Coming in from a very late flight and don't want to drive home at that hour? Stay in an area hotel and take advantage of Park, Sleep and Fly packages. You check-in before your flight and leave your car parked at the hotel during your travels. The hotel shuttles you to your terminal and picks you up when you return. These packages save a lot of money.
