Vail is located 100 miles west of Denver in the central Rocky Mountains. Vail reflects a number of individual villages that provide a wide range of lodging and other amenities.
Vail Village is the historic center of the resort with its famous clock tower and the location of Vail's shopping, dining and nightlife. Lodging in Vail Village ranges in price and runs the gamut of comfortable accommodations. Vail's high-speed Gondola is located in Lionshead Village. The lodging in Lionshead is surrounded by shops and restaurants. There is a complimentary shuttle bus that transports vacationers between Vail Village and Lionshead. East Vail is a secluded community of exclusive housing nearby to Vail's golf course.
Housing at the Vail ski resort has gone through an upgrading process over the years. There is a rating system from platinum (finest accommodations) to bronze (no frills) that gives you an advanced idea of the type and pricing of the lodging you select fro your winter vacation.
Vail has a program to accommodate groups of at least 20 people to make it possible to organize a ski club trip or even a wedding. Group accommodations can be made for either leisure or business purposes. Group lodging can be reserved (866.231.VAIL ) at the Lodge at Vail (the resort's only ski-in/ski-out hotel), Marriott's Mountain Resort & Spa, the Antler's at Vail and the Christiana at Vail.
There are group rates (20 or more people) for lift tickets and other activities such as dining. The Vail management offers a Colorado Ticket which allows the user to ski and ride over 10,000 acres of trails at one of Vail's sister resorts including Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone and Vail itself.
If you buy your lift tickets for Vail on-line in advance of your stay at the resort, Vail gives you a discount on the price of your lift tickets. If you are unable to purchase your lift tickets in advance, discounts are still available by purchasing a multi-day ticket. Lift Ticket pricing is dependent upon the time of the season you ski.
